Happy Birthday, Jesus!

Mark 10:45

"For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."

What an example! What would my life be like if I tried to serve insted of being served?

I Wanderd Lonely as a Cloud

To change the flow of things, I decided to post a poem insted of song lyrics. I've been reading a ton of poetry lately for school and have found a couple that I really like. So here's one of them and more to come later!

I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud

By William Wordsworth

I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.

The waves beside them danced; but they
Out-did the sparkling waves in glee:
A poet could not but be gay,
In such a jocund company:
I gazed--and gazed--but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:

For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.

Introducing...

Pip! She is our "new"(we got her a couple of weeks ago, I just didn't get a picture take quickly) gerbil. She is almost the opposite of Ella. She's sweet, quiet, and, well, adorable! This isn't a very good picture of her(Gerbils don't sit still for long:).

I have like had little to no time on the computer lately because of school and getting ready for Christmas, but I had some more pieces of flair( I know that's like all I've posted recently, but I'll try to actually post more when the holidays are over).

Tagged again!

Well, actually no one tagged me, but I tagged my self!

The Rules

1. Copy the questions and then answer them (post it on your blog remember).

2. Tag 4 people and let them know you have tagged them.

3. Let the person [who tagged you] know that you have done a post for the tag.

What are your nicknames?
Well, technically Aly is my nickname. My real name is Alysce.

What TV game show or reality show would you like to be on?
Survior(if it wasn't for the bad additudes and language) or Wipeout.

What was the first movie you bought in VHS or DVD?
I don't think I've actually bought one myself.

What is your favourite scent?
Japanese Cherry Blosom

If you had one million dollars to spend only on yourself, what would you spend it on?
Wellllll, first I would by a big house in the country w/ stables, then get some horses and dogs, nice ones so I could show them.

What is one place you've visited, can't forget and want to go back to?
Disney!!! I went there w/ my family and the Cooks five years ago I think it was.

Do you trust easily?
I don't give away my trust freely, but when I trust someone, it takes a lot to shake it.

Do you generally think before your act, or act before you think?
A lot of both!

Is there anything that had made you unhappy these days?
The way people forget the real meaning of Christmas. It's more than just the presents.

What is your favorite fruit?
Ummmm, this one is hard. Well, pears are at the top of my list today, but check in tommorow.

What websites do you visit daily?
My e-mail and several blogs.

What is your favourite thing to wear?
My Panthers jersey (I'm wearing it right now!). It's so comforable.

Do you think Rice Krispies are yummy?
Kinda, especially when they're mixed with marshmellows!

What items couldn't you be without during the day?
Books! I would die if I didn't have books.

What should you be doing right now?
Getting to bed :D Night!

I tag:
Morgan
Chelsey
Emily E.
Christianne
Now you have to tag at least one person. You can't just say "I tag anyone who whats to be tagged." It makes it a ton more fun if you personally tag someone. If all you're friends have been tagged, tag you mom and her friends. Just my opinion!

Btw, if you don't want me to tag you let me know. I'll understand if you don't!

A New Everything!

I didn't really like my old header and backround, so I changed it to a much more country girlish theme. Like it?

BTW, that picture was taken when we went back to Iowa this summer. There are a ton of corn cribs in Iowa. This one is my papa's, so we got to climb to the top and go inside it.

Podcasts

I know most of you have iPods, so here is a great podcast to go on it. It's called sheep laughs comedy. The begging is pretty cheesy, but as it goes on it gets really funny. It's clips for CD made by Christian comedians, so there's nothing bad at all! Enjoy!

Obama

I do think we truly need to pray for Obama. That he would make wise decisions and reverse his view on abortion. I don't believe he's as bad as everyone makes him. Yet we still need to pray.

On a funny note, at our Tapestry co-op was learning about the Tarrif of Obamanation(I think that's how you spell it). One of the boys came up with a "brilliant" word shall we say. "Hey 'Obama' nation!" When I saw this, I was like, I have to post this. I guess he wasn't the only one to think of it!

Science

Science! Bleh! For those of you who enjoy science, good for you, but I don't. Give me something practical, for ex. math. There's nothing wrong with scientist. In fact, thank you all scientists out there, we would be where we are today without you, but that's not for me. All right I'm done

Pecans in the Cemetery

Wow! This story is sooo funny.
PECANS IN THE CEMETERY
On the outskirts of a small town years ago, there was a big, old pecan tree just inside the cemetery fence. One day, two brothers in need of some cash filled up a bucketful of nuts and sat down by the tree, out of sight, and began dividing the nuts which they would later sell.
"One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me," said the brother that was dividing them. Several dropped and rolled down toward the fence.
A boy came riding along the road on his bicycle. As he passed, he thought he heard voices from inside the cemetery. He slowed down to investigate. Sure enough, he heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me." He just knew what it was. "Oh my", he shuddered, "It's Satan and the Lord dividing the souls at the cemetery." He jumped back on his bike and rode off.
Just around the bend he met an old man with a cane, hobbling along, "Come here quick," said the boy, "you won't believe what I heard! Satan and the Lord are down at the cemetery dividing up the souls."
The man said, "Beat it kid, can't you see it's hard for me to walk." When the boy insisted though, the man hobbled to the cemetery. Standing by the fence they heard, "One for you, one for me. One for you, one for me..."
The old man whispered, "Boy, you've been tellin' the truth. Let's see if we can see the Lord himself." Shaking with fear, they peered through the fence, yet were still unable to see anything. The old man and the boy gripped the wrought iron bars of the fence tighter and tighter as they tried to get a glimpse of the Lord.
At last they heard, "One for you, one for me. That's all. Now let's go get those nuts by the fence, and we'll be done."
They say the old man made it back to town a full 5 minutes ahead of the boy on the bike.

Extreme Makeover: Home Edition in Charlotte!

Here's my first post! Well, I hope I can keep this up! Last night we went to the Extreme Makeover House. It was so cool. They really don't run around a whole lot, and there was a whole lot of people in blue shirts standing around. We also saw Ed Sanders, the Englishman. We got picture, too. I'm not sure why my finger is that way. That's about it. No other designer where around and we were lucky to get a picture with Ed. Austin, Leah, and Jared got his autograph, too.
